NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION PRESS RELEASE

Emmitsburg, MD - The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is excited to announce our Sixth Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, June 12, 2009. In addition, nearly 40 U.S. regional golf tournaments and our first international tournament in Tokyo, Japan will be held throughout 2009 in honor of all firefighters who have died in the line of duty and in support of their families.

The proceeds from these tournaments will help the Foundation continue to develop and sustain programs such as the Taking Care of Our Own® Program, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and the Everyone Goes Home® Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program. These are just some of the programs the Foundation offers to help support families and the fire service.

In 2008, 23 tournaments were hosted across the United States. These tournaments were a huge success and raised over $200,000 in support of National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Programs.

If you would like more information on the Sixth Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament or any of our regional tournaments please visit our website at Golf.FireHero.org or contact Bev Walter at 301-447-1603 or by email at bwalter@FireHero.org.

About the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF)
The United States Congress created the NFFF to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the nonprofit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers. With the support of fire and life safety organizations and funding from Fireman's Fund and the Department of Homeland Security, the NFFF launched a major initiative to reduce firefighter deaths. Its goal is to reduce line-of-duty firefighter deaths by 25 percent in five years. For more information on the Foundation and its programs contact us at 301-447-1365 visit www.FireHero.org.
